Like any other business, marketing of agricultural product and others products depends on reliable and efficient market information. Because of this different stakeholders need different types of information and on a timely basis in order to make informed decision on whether to buy or sell and in what quantities.
Prior to this information gap, a project called enhancing income growth between small and micro business entrepreneurs supported by NEPAD in Apac, have instituted a localized market information service, which will provides timely, weekly and monthly market information from local markets in Apac district. This information will also be disseminated through local radio station Radio Apac FM and will also be displayed on KIC notice board located in Apac town council, Market Street opposite Kobil petrol station.
This initiative will enable small and micro women business or enterprise, Apac farmers and produce dealers to trade from an information point of view of market condition because when Apac community know the latest market price, they will be empowered to decide whether to sell, buy and hoard or even add value to their commodities.
The localized market information service in Apac is being gathered and provided under Baropobo women organization with financial support from The New Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD)
